Yes sinusitis cause all this symptoms :( take all your medication so it don’t become chronic like mine :(
I have had troubles with sinus for about 2 years now. It got way better after I moved out of Delhi. Almost cured. But the sinus journey in Delhi was quite agonizing and interesting at the same time.
I would say your question is justified and the same used to be my question at one point of time. But I was clear about the answer. YES it is. Since my mucus overproduction was triggered only in Delhi's areas, I took some time to experiment with this thing and if I moved to a better AQI place like my home town, I would be relieved of so many things. Since I work in coding domain in my office, so I could make out the relatively subtle effects of sinus by comparing my behavior and performance patterns with and without sinus. Only people doing some mental job like coding algorithms and analytical task would tell you about sinus and points(1,2,3 and 10).
Well I will answer point wise:
1. Constant brain fog.
BIG YES.
2. Short term memory problems.
AGAIN BIG YES.
3. Word finding troubles.
YES ALL KIND OF READING. I bet your ethmoid and sphenoid sinuses are filled, you don't have problem with just maxillary. I will explain.
See when ethemoid or sphenoid are filled, they restrict eye-lid movement and make the area above and behind your eyes heavier.
Now Reading, my dear involves lot of muscles in the eye-lid area, so much so that eye-lids movement is a reflection on weather you are extrapolating or recalling something while reading. One can tell from your eye-lid movement.
Now with sinus you restrict it and make it heavy, you gonna loose a lot of analytical skill, most notable to general people: Reading.
PEACE OF ADVICE: Use regular hot compress in that area (eyelids and eyebrows)(using hot cloth) if you don't wanna loose your mind. Or it's just a matter of time before anxiety and depression sets in.
4. Lack of interest in things.
TOTALLY, you are drained of all energy. You are skeptic about what would trigger your sinus again, you are paranoid, you feel feverish all the time. Why would you be interested in anything at all.
5. Anxiety/Panic Attacks.
YES. Use regular hot compress in that area (eyelids and eyebrows)(using hot cloth) to avoid that.
6. Obsessive thoughts.
YES. Use regular hot compress in that area (eyelids and eyebrows)(using hot cloth) to avoid that.
7. Tinnitus in my right ear.
YES. That's medically true anyways
8. Pressure between eyes and bridge of nose.
That's where ethmoid IS.
9. Hard to breathe through nose.
YEAH. Hot compress around nose bridge and maxillary sinuses. The thing is medical literature is not clear on this. BUT for many of us our maxillary sinuses are a part of the direct air input and if they are filled you gonna feel this. So hot compress around your nose and cheeks, let the mucus drain, you will fell the difference.
10. Trouble concentrating.
TOTALLY.
No, I haven't been doing anything to treat the Sinusitis...except the time I took the antibiotics and ended up being allergic to them. Thanks for the suggestions. This is very good information.
Are you sure that this will rid me of the Sinusitis? Do you think I should get some antibiotics (that I'm not allergic to) to treat it as well?
My 2nd ENT sat me down and said : "I'm going to give you the keys to the kingdom: Control the mucus. Mucus is caustic and it creates inflammation if it lingers in your system".
And he told me to wash my nose with warm saline every day and he prescribed guaifenesin - he also told me "guaifenesin fights inflammation by adding water to mucus". This was years ago--1995--and I have taken
it every day since. It helps my sinuses stay clear. It helps the mucus drain and this dis-inflames the sinuses. Now you can buy guaifenesin over the counter...brand name is "Mucinex". And I wash my nose at least once a day and have since 1995.
