Pinky/red skin bump

Hello.

First time posting.

I am something of a hypocondriac, so wanted your opinion on this.

On my right underarm, I have noticed a smallish (about 3 or 4 mm) pinky red lump. It is circular, and smooth edged, but bumpy texture, like it is stuck onto the skin. Adjoined onto it, is a very tiny pink pimple like spot.

It is fleshy coloured, but seems to fluctuate between light pink and red. If I touch it, it goes more pale.

I have had it about a week, and been to the doctor, I said I was worried it was a new, malignant mole, but he said it looked more like a wart lesion, he thought it was benign and was probably a Seborrheic something or other. He said he was not concerned, but would like to see it again in a month. I am also due an appointment with a dermotologist in about a months time for a separate issue, so he said I can tell him about it then.

I am still really worried it is melanoma. There is no history of skin cancer in my family, or any form of cancer, but I have fair skin. Although I have never really got sunburnt on my arms.

I am also paranoid about it changing colour. It seems a bit darker than when I first noticed it. With the colour of melanomas are the colour changes dramatic? eg... if it was initially pink, it would turn dark brown/black etc. It is all one colour, but i'm not sure if it is darker pink or not.

I realise you can't diagnose, but would appreciate any opinions.

I am about to go away for a month, so want to be able to not think about it, and wait for my dermatology appointment and doctors when I go back.

Does my doctors diagnosis sound right?

Thanks for taking the time to read.

Chris
