A common cause of eczema is chemicals in detergents. I started developing eczema for no apparent reason at age of 35 (never had it before). After a year of suffering and using Fluocinonide prescribed by doctor, I went over my credit card records and found that my eczema started soon after I switched to a new laundromat that was using a detergent called ALL. I switched back to my old one, and within a few weeks, the eczema was gone! strangely enough, ALL claims they have special additives in their detergents for eczema sensitive people. maybe it had opposite effect on me.

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hi,
How are you? The exact cause of eczema is not know, but genetics, a defect of the skin that impairs its function as a barrier, and abnormal function of the immune system may be contributory. It can also be triggered by environmental allergens  stress, and substances that come in contact with the skin, such as soaps, cosmetics, clothing, detergents, jewelry, or sweat. Hope this helps. Take care and best regards.
