Does this sound like a sleep disorder?

I have been drinking somwhat heavy for about 6 days straight. I know it not good for me, i have quit. But any ways 5 days ago i had alot to drink and fell asleep. Since that happened i have not been able to fall asleep or stay asleep. The sleep is not deep either, i feel tired during the day. I do have anxiety and that fact i cant sleep worrying is making it worse. But i'm wondering if i induced a disorder because of the alchol. Any advice would be apreciated.

Hello and hope you are doing well.

You should not keep thinking about sleeplessness, as this in turn promotes insomnia and it becomes a vicious cycle. Alcohol does make a person drowsy, but it does not promote deep sleep, hence the feeling of fatigue and being tired after alcohol consumption. You should stop becoming anxious and try to relax. Try to have a warm bath before sleeping. Have a glass of milk or read a book before trying to sleep. Don’t watch TV or do exercise before sleeping. Condition yourself that you can relax and that you can sleep well.

Try yoga and meditation they have calming effects. Go for long stress free walks. Also, do exercise in the daytime this promotes good sleep.

Hope this helped and do keep us posted.

Cant say im an expert but for me classic hangover symptoms for me if i get drunk is to sleep hard for 4 hours and then wake up and have insomnia for 24 hours. During this 24 hours my mind is dizzy but races and infact the effect is almost similar to no doze, i pretty much bounce off the walls and have a lot of energy. This is typically my hangover symptoms rather than nausea and puking. I rarely drink.
