Hi Janie83, thanks for your updates, hope you are relaxing and feeling better by time. Its really good to appreciate the comments or others experiences and may be in trying out it as sometimes it might even work out. Well, as you are due for a neurologist examination you can discuss the issue of possible spinal injury. I do understand it is indeed a hard time to battle the stress. Massage therapy might be benefiting. You may try out yoga and meditation, as it is quite relaxing. Keep a little physically active. Update the column once neurologist sees you. Take care.

Thank you all so much for your advice it is appreciated more than you possiably know!! OKAY
Paul560 - The only type of electrical device by my bed is a atomic bomb bed shaking alarm clock. I have lived in a few different places over the course of the last 5 years and the symptoms have remained and gotten more severe over the last few months. So I will be sure to check in my are to make sure that would not be the case. Your right!! It won't hurt to look into it at all..I am desperate at this time.

hunnybee41 - I am definatly going to look into that b/c although I was having several symptoms I never imagined a spinal injury could cause severe fatigue. Thanks so much for your advice. OH also on the "crazy meds" that was kind of a joke I apologize..all I was saying is I know that it's not depression. I am far from that. I am always chipper and happy aside from the exaustion and when I wake up because I'm so disoriented and unfocucsed and stumbling and all..that makes me quite grumpy..anyhow thanks SOOOO much again!!

OKAY SO I have a neurology appointment scheduled in a couple of weeks!!! I'm so excited I can't see straight. Hopefully I will find some relief!!!

Hi Janie83, how are you? Hi paul560, how are you? Thanks for having shared your thoughts. Any advice is of great value as it might surely help some of the members of this column eagerly waiting for some answers or advise. Still it would be better to consult your family doctor for a check up instead of ignoring the problems. Do post your experience and share your thoughts. Take care.

I would definately speak with my physician about this problem. When you turn your neck it hurts really bad, so he/she may need to order a MRI because your vetebrae may be slipped onto your spinal cord. It happened to me, I stayed exhasted also. I got my surgery 1 month ago not allowed to lift more than a gallon of milk yet, but anyways if something is on your spinal cord (not saying for sure if it is) it can cause alot of problems. The meds you are calling crazy meds aren't that bad, it is the stigma related to the antipsycotics and antidepression pills that are bad, antipsychotics are used to help people see things the same as the so called normal people do, and antidepresants help people to not be depressed. You would probably be amazed to know how many people take these meds because most people hide that they do because of false beliefs (stigma) about taking meds for their condition. It is like any other meds like insulin or blood pressure lowering meds some people should take them because for instance an imbalance of insulin is bad just as an imbalance of chemicals in the brain its not bad to take meds, its better for anyone who needs them to take them to feel better and to be able to function and enjoy life..YOU COULD HAVE  A SIMPLE SLEEP PROBLEM CALLED HYPNOGOGIC HALLUTIONATIONS THAT CAN BE HELPED BY PUTTING YOU IN THE RIGHT TYPE OF SLEEP WITH MEDS. This can be diagnosed by a neurologist. Hope this helps God Bless and hope you are feeling better

Hi Janie83, thanks for your reply and how are you? It sounds strange. Well, you need to be investigated thoroughly as most of the triggers are negative. Still, it is a good idea to get a sleep study done to know the present sleep pattern and rule out sleep apnea. You need to try doing yoga or meditation and spend extra time with family or friends to keep self-engaged. Modafinil is a central nervous system stimulant used for the treatment of narcolepsy. It is also used for the treatment of excessive daytime sleepiness caused by obstructive sleep apnea/hypopnea syndrome and shift-work sleep disorder. It would be better to consult your sleep specialist before you chose to take any drug. Keep updating your thoughts in this section. Take care.

Thank yo soo much for your response!!I did have a sleep study about 2 1/2 years ago. They rulaed out sleep apnea and stated that the average person brain waves go up 10-15 times an hour. They said that mine were 4 times (it was something to that effect) that and simply stated that I needed to reduce the stress in my life. This is NOT related to stress. I have minimal stress in my life. I don't snore, and I dont stop breathing. Also this is beyond sleepiness this is pure exaustion. My job is not strenious and I try to excersies as often as possiable. I am in very good shape and have no weight to loose. No family history of sleep apnea either. I drink on occassion but not very often and have never taken sleeping pills unless some tension tamer tea counts. Also I sleep EXTREMLY heavy. Audible alarms do not wake me up. I have had up to 8 alarm clocks go off for over an hour before. I had to buy an alarm clock that actually shakes the bed. 220 volts and have a special outlet installed. This is ridiculous! There was an earthquake here last night and it never phased me. I've had my house broke into..literally window shattered and nothing. My brother new I was home and I would not answer the door. It was 5 in the afternoon and he thought I was dead. I had been asleep for 18 hours with no alcohol or anything before. He broke into my house and I didnt wake until he shook me. And when I woke up I was soo tired. Also alot of times when I do wake up, I'm real shakey like short circuit. Very disoriented w/ impaired vision and slurred speech. I need help and cannot find out what is going on.

Hi Janie83, how are you? I do understand how you might be going through this hard time with so much stress and strain to body. I would like to suggest you to undergo a Sleep study to rule out the possibility of Sleep apnea. This is caused by upper airway blockage, usually when soft tissue at back of throat collapses during sleep resulting in no breathing during sleep for anywhere from 10 seconds to more than a minute and happens hundreds of times over a single night. Snoring and gasping for breath during night is a usually earliest sign with excessive daytime sleepiness, fatigue, feeling unrefreshed, night sweats, morning dry mouth or sore throat and headaches. There may be a family history. Overweight, large neck circumference, enlarged tonsils, structurally abnormal airway, smoking, alcohol and sleeping pills can be some causes. Losing weight is one of the best things to do. Avoid alcohol, smoking and sleeping on to your back. Also you might be having chronic fatigue syndrome. So, you need to consult Neurologist and a sleep specialist for investigation and treatment thereof. Share your thoughts and take care.
