My recent experience of gall bladder removal caused severe constipation, the exact opposite of your problem. My GB burst & that caused infections in my abdomen. I'd not had even a hint that anything was wrong till I collapsed suddenly ~ always kept fit & felt well. Apart from a scar that looks like an axe wound in chest, all's more or less OK. Was told that removal of GB would not cause any dietary problems. I eat whatever is put in front of me. I know how lucky I am. Hope you get your issues resolved soon. Could there be a psycho-somatic element involved?George

Just in case you weren't told, the reason you are experiencing diarrhea after gall baldder surgery is because you no longer have the organ that concentrates bile. Bile comes from the liver, but the gall bladder concentrates it, then releases it by contracting, to digest fats. After it's gone. the fats don't get digested well enough and they go through to cause fatty stools and diarrhea. It happened with me also. Still does and its been 30 years. I still avoid fatty meats, but even a small amount tends to bother me. As far as I know, there's not a whole lot you can do about it, but avoid fatty-type meats. I'm not sure whether the body's digestive system adjusts to the change or not. I'll investigate the subject on the internet and get back to you, OK? grannymusiclover
