What is "truth" to you?

Truth to me is accepting/seeing things as they are, rather than trying to change events actively. It involves letting the self be completely dissolved at the mercy of Nature, not to fear discomfort, disease or death neither to be too excited in any situation.

However, this is just what I 'think' about truth. It does not mean I follow it. So the very point I stop following it, I stop following truth. The moment I stop following truth I accept darkness, I fear discomfort, I fear disease and I fear death at the cost of getting more material benefits and letting myself be lost in the temporary mortal cosiness of material comforts.

That is a good perspective.  Self is an interesting subject...one that interests us all in some way....lol!  Learning to recognize when "self" gets in the way of learning the greater good or moving on past certain ways of being is an ongoing lesson.

That is a beautiful depiction of self getting in the way.  Learning to stand still and wait or  listen isn't so easy.  When self is in charge, self knows the way or so self thinks...lol!

I learned to rest in the realization that truth exists with or without me.  What is important to me is the desire to know it.  I don't own it nor can possess it.  It takes courage and strength to face it when we have gone down a different path.

Truth is hard to define as a concept but you can't define it until you think of society without your personal concerns involved and what would be the greater good for society as a whole. You can't understand any form of a higher truth until you have managed to think of your own ego as something apart from what is defined as truth. That of course is not easy to accomplish. Also I would say its best to understand that everyone is seeking the same path, regardless of their belief system (morality is another issue of course). I just saw an exhibit on this new book that had until now been unpublished by Carl Jung. The whole idea of the collective unconscious that he was the first to understand gives an essential picture of it and how much we have in common. If a person read through some of his works they might understand how we are all on the same path and what impeeds us is when we put our own needs first or seek to destroy or put down others. But that is true of all of humanity throughout history.

TRUTH IS ONE______PATHS ARE MANY.
As children bring us broken toys...with tears....for us to mend.
I brought my Broken Dreams to God....because He was my friend
But then instead of leaving Him in Peace to work alone..........I hung around and tried to help.........With way which were my Own..........Finially.......
I snactched them back....and Cried....how could you be so slow????
      MY CHILD...HE SAID.....What could I do........You never did LET GO..................author unknown
Truth for me is the WORD....It never changes, always constant.
I ask on a regular basis to be forgiven for anything I have said or done that has caused a seperation between me and God and others. I pray to used as an instrament of his will and the power to carry that out..........................Blessed Be
