:-)  I like that word---householder.  In the Bible, Jacob was a householder...Esau was the opposite.  Mom sided with Jacob and Dad favored Esau.  Mom essentially tricked Dad so Dad would bless her favorite and then when all was said/done, he had to flee when Dad died out of fear of retribution.

Pragmatism is an interesting word also.  Like all others areas, has undergone many changes...like streams from the Ocean.  I find it fascinating how things keep dividing.

Back to the quote.  Seems like a good thought to start the day.  Others first is a discovery.  Many ways to view just what that means.

I follow a more conservative version....I wake up and tell myself - to harm living beings as least as I can. Because i am a householder and pragmatism requires hurting once in a while intentionally to fulfill the needs to gather and satisfy more wants.
