Seeing Spirits

Have you ever seen, heard, felt a spirit or spirits, evil or benevolent?  What did you do?

That is so beautiful.
I feel, sense, and have known these things as concrete reality. Yet sometimes am still unsure....
I suppose that is the nature of Mystery.....

ginger... I had a  similar experience when my dog died. I looked into her eyes at the moment of her death and I felt a wave of warmth passing through me. I also saw a
glow of light radiating from her eyes. I believe that what I saw and felt it was her spirit.

Another one. (this happened about 20 years ago)
I was up a mountain, and a sheep was dying, and I was trying to help it. Then I felt something vibrate right through me, and kind of 'shimmer'. I looked back at the sheep and saw it was dead. I felt its spirit or something pass right through my body and out my back.

I was in my mother's house for Christmas two years ago, and was on my way through the kitchen, when I felt an absolute flood of love that stopped me in my tracks, from an unseen source. She had dementia at that time, but I asked her anyway "Did you just feel a Presence?"
She said no. So I then told her what I'd just felt. It went in about 2 minutes, but it was unexpected, very strong, I have no idea who from.

Another time (about 28 years ago now) I felt a Presence. I had 15 candles lighting the room. I asked the Being (whoever it may be) to show me it was real. I asked 'it'  to move the candle flame on the candle nearest to me.
Then that candle flame suddenly dipped right down, and came up again! But it wasn't finished! The same happened to every single candle all around the room. One after the other. I knew I hadn't made that happen! But I still did not know who it was. All I could feel was love from whoever it was.

I have an idea, but I do not know if it is true or not. That I once loved someone very much, and they loved me. I came back to this World for some reason, but they didn't. That they are there, in the Unseen World. That they are not always close (or I'm not) but will wait for me. And will sometimes show me they are there.

I have felt the presence of something I perceive as dark/evil and when it happens, I pray.  Usually it happens at night/during the night.  I turn the light on.  I may even take flashlights with me to bed as the thought occurs that the lights might go out.

I never know when it will happen, but it has been that way since childhood.  I think it influenced me to run to God for protection.  There were miscellaneous things that happened in childhood like things moving without anyone there & the sense of someone there and sounds amplified, usually at night.  A neighbor once said she saw someone in the attic window.  I ran out of the house on more than one occasion due to the strong sense of a dark presence.

Things like that happened over my teenage years and I think that I had the sense of other worlds/mysticism due to those experiences.  I prefer not to focus on that anymore and look instead for "logical" reasons or "leave it alone".

Iam1butterfly -  I've had that experience with pets who have passed on.  I KNOW they are there.  Sometimes I can feel them jumping on my bed (yes, I let them sleep on the bed).  It's usually my dog, a Siberian husky or our cat who would have been 25 if he had lived.  They are a comfort and very real to me.  As a Native American/Canadian, I believe in the "closeness" between the human world and the spirit world.

Tbaby - I don't know what your belief system is and it's none of my business but when I sense evil or malevolent spirits, I pray and pray and call on my ancestors as well as the Almighty to protect me.  I also do some Native rituals but prayer is strong and should never be underestimated.

Several months after my 14 year old dog had died, I had the distinct feeling that I
was being followed. But, I only had that feeling in an area of my backyard that was
a favorite sunning spot for my dog. Around the same time, I used to hear noises coming from the dog's empty house... it sounded like the noise made by a dog when it scratches itself and, its hind leg is thumping against a wooden surface.
The dog house thumping noise went away when I placed gardening tools inside of it.
As for that feeling of being followed, that gradually went away along with the end of the mourning period... which was about a year.
I think that anyone who says that animals don't have a soul or an eternal spirit... never had a loving connection with an animal.

My aunt lives in a really old house and once a family friend said she saw an old man in the basement with a floral shirt. My aunt said not to tell my cousin cuz many times she's in the house by herself and she doesn't want her to freak out and be scared so no one said anything.

One time I was praying and reading some religious books before I go to bed and I said, "Lord I want a closer walk with you" out loud. When I said this a weird and strong feeling like something passed through me i felt and the beads on my lampshade hit each other and then my religious books were being literally thrown off the shelf on the other side of my room.

My cousin was in the other room and I wanted sooo bad to run and tell her but I didn't cuz my aunt said not to say anything and I didn't want to freak her out. So I prayed under the sheets soooo still and breathing hard.

I knew not to fear but the feeling I felt was unreal. My lampshade with the beads wouldn't hit themselves without someone touching it and the books wouldn't be thrown around the room. I was honestly scared. I was young too so ya.. when I first got baptized.

I know that it was demons. I've never experienced this since and I don't want to.
