I had been trying to conceive naturally for about a year. I tried clomid and got pregnant on the first round. So it is possible.
Stacey10... You are such an inspiration foe me. Thank you for posting such an encouraging message. I will not give up, and my diet sure could use some adjustments as well.
Thak you for such encouragement- we wont give up, i am trying to put on some weight aswell-did acupuncture with ivf but didnt help us there, may try again now as i have heard lots of positives and royal jelly. best wishes to you and sadiexx
I have conceived naturalyy at age 41 and 43 with the birth of my baby in may> It took longer this time 1 1/2 yrs and 2 miscarriages but dont give up, I did 2 rounds of acupunture to get my hormones in balance and to get heat into my uterus also had to take herbs to promote a healthy lining. Apart from that I gave up drinking alcohol and caffine, went onto herbal t's, took pre-conception vitamins and royal jelly capsuals and had organic milk and youghurt with heaps ov veges as well, good luck :)
I have heard that too about naturally fertilized eggs, so that makes sense for you. I will be starting with the OPK's again in about 7 days. I am considering clomid. I have an appt with my Dr. in October, so I will talk to him about that, but otherwise it is au naturale for me :)
I am more of a difficult case, I have had years of an eating disorder which is why I am of low body weight(still managed to conceive and carry our son) and I dont have periods, this makes it very hard to test for ovulation because I never know where I am in a cycle. People think because you dont have perios you dont ovulate, not true hence our son, but you dont ovulate frequently so i would be using OPK's all the time, I try to look for the signs i.e mucus but as to date nothing and also like you said eggs are older and it is getting just that good one. Our consultant told us we have more of a chance conceiving natuarlly than ivf as each egg we put back isnt taking where as when an egg is fertilized natuarlly its more likely to implant and develop.xx
I hope I am doing this right....
Thanks Melissa. Best of luck to you too. I will try to add you as a friend. Are you using OPK's? I have had very good luck with them. I always know when I am ovulating. I have had the two pregnancies by using them, I guess the eggs are just getting old. I will keep using them though because I find them easier than temping and watching the cervical mucus.
Hello Sadie, I too am trying to conceive and I am also just 42 years old. We do have our son Alfie conceived natuarly 3 years ago but this time we have had no joy. We have also endured 4 rounds of ivf taking all our energy and savings(£21000) and tried clomid, gave me cysts-so with no success just back to au nateural and alot of HOPE. My dr says of course fertility right down but never give up hope- my best wishes to you melissa (I am in U.K)
