Clomid Delays Period ???

Hi Everyone,
I've been lurking on this site for some time.  Thanks for all of the advice on DHEA and Evening Primrose Oil!  I have a problem that I haven't seen posted before.  During my March cycle (CD1=3/13), I took Clomid  on CD 3-7 as prescribed by my RE.  I went in for an ultrasound on 3/22 and it showed a 19mm egg in my left ovary and a 4mm lining.  The egg looked promising, but the docs were concerned about the thin lining. Meanwhile on Monday 3/22 , Ovacue Monitor predicted ovulation on Friday 3/26 but Ovacue testing on Tues indicated that I had already ovulated - so much for early warning.  Bottom line, between the thin lining and the odd Ovacue results, my IUI was cancelled for March.

I was given a prescription for Femara/ Letrozole (in place of Clomid) for the April cycle.  Problem is - I have yet to get my period!  Nope, absolutely zero chance of me being pregnant. My normal cycle runs 28-29 days and I'm pretty consistent. I've called the RE and went in for a blood test - she confirmed that I ovulated this cycle.  Her advice is just to "wait it out".  It may be a side effect of the Clomid or just a fluke.  Well, given that I am comfortably over 40 I feel that I don't have time to waste.  I've tried every herbal method that the web has to offer on how to bring on your period - parsley tea, sage tea, **** quai - and still nothing.

It's now  CD 46 any ideas/ suggestion ??

Thanks - Mikala365

Thanks Sherri  !!

The herbal remedies worked!  I googled emmenagogues and learned that I was taking too low of a dose of the dongquai.  Upped it to 1000mg every four hours - it only took two doses and I welcomed AF this morning.

I'm officially doing the CD1 Happy Dance!  Ok, moving forward with the letrozole enhanced IUI cycle.

Have you tried any of the herbal remedies?

I've heard Vitex, Black Cohosh, Blue Cohosh, Pennyroyal, and Vitamin C are other herbal remedies for that. (AKA emmenagogues) I'm in a similar boat to you. I had a chemical pregnancy in early April. It stopped but no AF for me since then! I'm pretty upset, since we can't try again until the cycle starts over. I hope we both get it soon! :)
