Fsh 15.5 age 45 TR scheduled Jan.

I am wanting to hear of some successes of having a high fsh and still conceiving. I am 45 yrs old and having TR in Jan.2011.  My fsh was 15.5 on the 3rd day of cycle last month (Oct 2010). My husband and I have been on the mission field and delayed having children together until now. We did not know about fsh levels and such. We believed that because my periods are still normal I was still fertile.

I have great news! I had the second fsh done because it took a very long time to get the results of the 1st one, which turned out to be 15.5. The second one was sent to my dr 2 days after I gave the blood sample......it was 3.6 !!! I am so encouraged.

Nope, just ended up being 1 very healthy one.   Pregnancy has been great and very textbook so far, nothing to worry about, no spotting...nothing, but of course I will still worry every day until he is in my arms.

I totally believe in getting the negatives out.    I had to force myself to stay away from all the negativity on the internet during the first few weeks.   Around week 6 I was reading about miscarriages and talked myself into having those symptoms.   I called the OB all in a panic and they talked me "off the ledge" so to speak and gently laughed and said....stay away from the internet.    As soon as I quit reading....my symptoms went away.

Only read the positive, think positive :)    All my luck to you.

Thank you so much for sharing with me. I am taking every positive story about fsh levels I can so that I can get the negative out of head right from the start.

Are you pregnant with one or more? CONGRATULATIONS ON BFP!!

I am 43 and almost 18 weeks pregnant.    I started ttc when I was 41 and back then my fsh was 13.    I had a great fertility dr. and he put me on femara and gonal-f injections to produce more than one egg each month to increase my changes.    I also did weekly acupuncture appts. with a fertility acupuncturist.

It took a year and a half and 2 m/c's, but now I have a healthy pregnancy with a healthly little boy in there.    I'm sure after a year and a half that my FSH was higher than 15.5, so don't focus on the number, it really doesn't mean all that much.

good luck to you, there are many many woman here that have had successful pregnancies and beautiful babies with higher fsh than yours.
