Hi,
I've just looking into the OvaCue thing too. Just spotted this on their website:
"I have long cycles; can I still use the OvaCue?"
Yes. The OvaCue was designed to be used by women with very long or unpredictable cycles. The vaginal sensor is recommended to provide more accurate results.
Might be worth a shot?
Good luck!
Hey Mikala,
well apparently I can;t use the Ova Cue, just as well I read the fine print, cos they don't work if your cycle is longer than 42 days, & I am now at that, my longest cycle ever :(
Just glad I didn't shell out the dollars only to find that it was useless to me, but if my cycles come back to normal (28 - 32 days) I will definately invest in one!
I have the Ovacue with the optional vaginal sensor and the computer software. Haven't used the software but have used the Ovacue and senor for one cycle. I stopped using it because I was using the ClearBlue Easy Fertility Monitor, generic peesticks AND the Ovacue all at the same time - it was very confusing. My RE told me to just use the cheap peesticks, so everything else is gathering dust. The one thing that I do like about the Ovacue is that with the vaginal sensor you can tell if you actually ovulated. Wanna know more just ask.
That is true, when we add up tons of OPK, will be same price or even more expensive than Ova Cue. I don't use OPK now as I found out it didn't tell me much of my ovulation. Maybe my level of LH is not as standard as others. I am using bbt + blook work. Have a nice day
I think my friend has that (the OvaCue, but it's a different name here of course) and likes it. If I recall correctly, it was a little expensive, like USD150.00 or 200.00? Although, OPK sticks sure get expensive month after month. It's probably the same price to buy the monitor as it is to keep buying OPK sticks! I'll have to think about it during my SIX weeks off from TTC and figure out whether to invest in one! SSBD!
Then the Ova Cue seems better than the microscope. But sorry never heard of it.
The Ova Cue is a little mini computer, with a sensor that your rest on your tongue, it is similar to the microscopes, in that it uses your saliva to check your fertility levels.
I already have a microscope, but it doesn't seem to work for me :(
Is Ovacue same as "Maybe Baby" - the brand name of saliva ferning mocroscope in Australia? I bought one 4 yrs ago when I ttc my son, but sorry I didn't like it. Go to the chemist to see if "Maybe Baby" is what you want, I can give it to you if the postage is not much, and if you don't mind using the nearly new one. I only used it less than 1 month and keep it there for any of my friends if they need (they are all pregnant without assistance. Seems I am the only trouble one.). Yes, it is a lipstick size too. I am even keeping the original instructions leaflet with it.
I think the Ovacue is one of those saliva ferning microscopes, right? If so, I love it! I used mine so much that it's broken now! They seem expensive up front but over the months the OPK's would add up to more. I think the microscope gives you a little more warning before O than OPK's. (Like 3-4 days before O, you see partial ferning.) It doesn't measure LH like OPK. It's supposed to indicate your estrogen surge that triggers the LH surge. It does this by measuring the salinity of your saliva, which is what gives it the ferning pattern in the result.) I highly recommend it! It's little (lipstick-size) so you can take it anywhere! :)
Its hard for me to pee on a stick too..LOL..But THANK GOD there are choices..lol
Thanks, that might work too :)
I pee in papercups and dipp it in and then throw away the cup, How's that sound?
