Chest pains at 16?

This isn't actually about abuse. I didn't know where to put it. But every once in a while I'll get these killer chest pains for seemingly no reason. I'm 130 lbs and 5"4. They're really random and sometimes every few months or every few weeks but it really kills. Umm... what's going on?

I know this is seriously out of date, but for anyone looking at this now, I have a similar problem, I'm 16 and have suffered problems with my chest for 3-4 hearts now. I was diagnosed with precordial catch syndrome. Its nothing dangerous or harmful, its just extremely painful! I reccomend anyone with chest problems seek professional help immediately. Best of luck.

it could be stress or anxiety. Or it could be  muscle spasms, but you should go to the doctor get it checked out to make sure .

Hi, I have the same problem, however there is a difference, I get mine for no apparent reason, strongly or weak. I have been diagnosed with rheumatic fever since I was 13 and I am almost 17, I can't even lift my left arm because it hurts my chest more, could this be a heart problem due to the rheumatic fever? I hate doctors but I know if I can't get help anywhere else I will have to go to one, yes the pain is on my left side.

I'm 13, And I have chest pains now and then. Usually when I eat a meal that has a lot of grease. It's could be indegistion. And if it's when your running, My doctor told me that it's either Asthma(With me, It's not) Or you just might not be in the proper shape to be doing that level of running, biking e.t.c. If it's a stick, Ripping pain in your right side. It is that your not in proper shape. But if its in the left side Id get 'er checked out buddy.

Goodluck.

Asthma or Costocondritis would be my guess, look it up and see if those match symptoms, possible cardiac etiol but probably not

I'm 19 and I've had the same problem since I was about 9. When I was really young, I used to tell people "my heart was getting stuck", because that was the first thing that came to mind when it happened.

I went to a doctor and they told me it was the lining of my lungs touching briefly when I exhaled. I'm not sure if it's entirely true, but I'm satisfied with the diagnosis. It still happens every now and then. Smoking since I was 12 probably doesn't help. Never smoke, especially if you already have chest pains!

I always used to get scared when it happened. I'd suggest going to a doctor and getting it checked out, if it concerns you more than you're comfortable with. Good luck!

Sometimes you can get chest pains from anxiety. I agree with the others. If it continues, get it checked out by a doctor. Best wishes.
