Hello Debbie,
if your period is about to come, it is unlikely that you could have gotten pregnant. However, I recommend that you go see your doctor TODAY and tell them what happened and get the 'morning after' pill. It is effective I think within 48 hours of unprotected sex.
I think the nausea is becuase you are so stressed about worryng you are pregnant. Even if you were (it is only 2 days) it is far too early to feel anything.
Spotting can be because you lost your virginity.
Do you have a good enough relationship with your Mum or another female adult (teacher, friend's Mum etc) to talk with them about this? IF so please talk to someone.
At 16 you should not have to worry about getting pregnant or getting an infection, which is also a risk if your partner has more than one partner.
If you are going to have sex please always use a condom. Carry some yourself if you are expecting to have sex, and always refuse to have sex if your partner will not use a condom. This is your life and your future - and this would not be the time to have a baby.
Please do not rush into a sexual relationship. There will be plenty of time for that in the future.
I am sorry if this seems like a lecture, I am saying this becuase I care!
Thank you so much for answering! I heard that spotting after having sex is a sign of pregnancy, I'm just really worried. I haven't taken the morning aftter pill because my cousin who is 23 years old says that the pill is going to mess with my hormones? But thank you, no more sex without a condom!
Hello,
Since you were a virgin at the time of intercourse, so this spotting can be due to tearing of hymen or trauma to the vagina or cervix also. Spotting of pregnancy does not appear immediately after intercourse. It is called implanatation bleeding which occurs when the zygote implants in the lining of the uterus and occurs 10 days after ovulation.
It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your dermatologist. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
Thank you for telling me that information. I'm still spotting now and then for 4 days now. Is it because my hormones are changing? And I also threw up today also. I'm getting very paranoid. I know it's hard to tell at such an early time. I don't have any way to get to a client to see because everyone is busy, but I don't want to wait at the last minute either. What should I do?
