UTI - need advice

after some problems, i went to the ER today. they sent me to labor & delivery, they ran a few tests and found out i have a UTI. they prescibed me Macrobid (a lot of other drugs used to treat them contain Sulfa & i'm highly allergic)

well here's the thing. i looked some stuff up and i found this link, along w/ many others

^ i guess Macrobid is linked to  birth defects.


should i ask for a different med?
is there any way to get rid of a UTI w/out medication? (maybe a lot of water?)
did you ever use Macrobid while pregnant?& did you have problems?

im not pregnant but i have a CUTI (constant urine tract infection), it flares up quite badly from time to time but i know if you drink alot of cranberry juice and water it usually goes out your system :) this is what i do anyways instead of going to the doctor, takes a couple days though

Drink water and cranberry juice and lots of it.
