Wow, you come on here asking for advice and then are rude to someone who is helping you? Birth control pills typically take about a month to be effective, but that can depend on the exact type of pill you are taking. Your body needs some time to get used to the extra hormones and for the hormones to stop the release of an egg from your ovaries by tricking your body into thinking it's "pregnant". What is the name of the birth control you are on?
I agree with what the other ladies are saying. I used to be on the Pill, and I was told that for the first month you need to also use another form of contraception, i.e. condoms because the pill hasn't taken effect in your body yet. Condoms also protect against STI's and are a great way of doubling up you birth control to make sure that pregnancy is even less likely.
Can I also add, you were quick to judge someone for making a spelling mistake, when in another post of yours above, you made various spelling/grammar mistakes and didn't use any capital letters at the start of your sentence so I wouldn't be quick to judge or pass comment on others when all they are doing is trying to help you with something that you clearly don't know much about. If you're not willing take advice nicely then you might want to look at other ways of getting some.
Wow. Rude much? And this is also coming from someone who doesn't even know the effects of something they're taking? Ok. Ask anyone around. Birth control doesn't just take effect immediately. It takes time to build up in your system. Doctors aren't all knowing creatures. What they do is a practice. Not a science.
takes effective? you mean takes effect? and no, my doctor told me one week and i think i'm going to trust her as apposed to someone who can't properly conjugate verbs or form correct sentences.
You need to be using condoms for the next month until the birth control takes effective. I'm unclear if your doctor told you this or not, but they should have.
BTW if you are on Birth control it's not 100% to prevent pregnancy. If you use condoms along with birth control, then pregnancy concerns won't even be an issue for you and you won't need to use the plan B.
Definitely no judging..I'm in no place to judge anyone... I'm just basing my answers on what you wrote..Your question about the plan B is a common question that IMO you should have asked whoever prescribed it to you.. For you to question if your pregnant after using the plan B says to me you were not well informed. That's all.
i was on birth control but only for 13 days so TO BE SAFE i took plan b. i am extremely responsible, thank you very much. and i read the instructions, they said bleeding was a common side effect although they did not specify wether or not it means pregnancy. so please don't be so quick to judge me.
and my doctor is on a vacation for another two days.
Like Clysta said bleeding is a side effect of the Plan B. If you don't want to be pregnant you should again use condoms and get on some sort of birth control..Word to the wise, you should ask these questions to the Dr. that prescribed the plan b or do your research before you put anything foreign in your body!!!
No. Bleeding is just a side effect of Plan B. More than likely though, you're not. If you don't want children, you need to make sure to use condoms and birth control at all times and not rely on an Emergency Contraceptive. They don't always work, and should never be used more than 2x a year.
