It's not common to not show you're pregnant for months on end. Blood tests are almost never wrong, especially a beta blood draw. This reads the exact amount of hCG in the blood. The only way it's wrong is through lab error. The reason it's so accurate is because there has to be hCG present for a pregnancy. In a viable one, it will usually double every 48 hours.
Irregularity can be caused from pretty much anything. As you get older they might become more crazy, sexual activity can cause them to be off, being around other women, stress, diet changes, sleep schedule changes, or it can just be off. As someone else asked, are you going by your original period dates, or your last late one. Ovulation determines a cycle, not your previous period. If they are changing, it could be that you're not late at all and just need to recalculate it.
I think you're in the clear but rake my advice like a drs, my period is STILL irregular and I'm in my 20's. But you never know! Take another one in a month
That may be happening to you, also it may be that your hormones were out of wack due to your period and it tested positive. Also, around 18-19 your cycle may change, mine did. Your hormones are changing too. You said your period was late again this month, was it late from the date it ORIGINALLY should have been, or did you calculate off the last period that you had? I would wait and see what happens next month or in between if anything happens strange. If it does then I'd tell the OB you want to have an ultrasound done just to make sure.
My best friend has been threw this before and yes she was prego but they found it threw a ulta sound
