tsh levels

In 2001 I had a thyroidoctomy. I remember struggle to get my dosage adjusted correcty. My Endocrinologist finally prescribed 200 mg of levoxyl and 5 mg of cytomel this was the magic number and I have been on the same dosage the whole time. I recently lost my insurance so I had to switch doctors. I just had a tsh blood work. My new doctor called me today and said my tsh level are too low and wants to cut down my medicine. I ran out of my cytomel aweek ago and began having symptoms, like fatigue, leg cramps, emotional breakdown. These are all the symptoms I had before we got the right dosage for my medicines back in 2001. My question is what are the normal tsh levels after a thyroidoctomy. I thought your tsh level was suppose to be low. Please advice asap. I am afraid of altering my meds. thank you.

Provided there is not a high-risk thyroid cancer, the target TSH is 0.3-2.5 (usually).  Too low of a TSH means too much thyroid hormone which can over-stimulate the heart and steal calcium from the bones.
