I'm not a physician, but as somebody who dealt with thyca, your biopsy sounds like they identified pre-malignant follicular thyca cells. Very likely, they'll either recommend surveillance with a follow up FNA biopsy down the line if something appears to change or possibly opt just for surgery to prevent that from occurring.
Here are the results :
Received right thyroid nodule- 7 gm , 4.0x3.0x2.0 cm thyroid. The outer surface is inked yellow. Within the inferior aspect is a well-circumscribed but unencapsulated tan nodule that is 1.4 cm in greatest dimension. A representative section of the nodule is Frozen as A1FS. The remaining thyroid is entirely submitted in cassettes A2-A8.
Microscope Description : Sections show multiple variable sized nodules separated by incomplete fibrous septae. These nodules are composed of follicles of varying sizes. Microfollicles, normal sized follicles , and macrofollicles are all seen in the same nodules. Follicles are lined by bland follicular epithelial cells. The dominant 1.4 cm unencapsulated nodule is composed predominantly of microfollicles but macrofollicles are admixed as well. In addition, there are scattered lymphoid aggregates with germinal center formation. Hurthle cells are not seen.
