Superior Meditational mass

My name is Mary ******** and I’m in the same boat as so many Americans! I have no insurance coverage and facing a medical problem. Who do I turn to the local health clinic, after going to Emergency room for a rapid heartbeat I find out that I have a Superior Meditational mass displacing the trachea toward the right of the midline likely secondary to the enlarged thyroid gland: I have followed up with my local health department Doctor to be pushed off on to a general surgeon. I have asked him to do an ultra sound and was told that it would be up to the general Surgeon, I also told him that I have been having trouble breathing and wanted to know what symptoms I should look for be for I should seek other medical advice. I was told if I turn blue to seek help other then that I should be happy I’m not in pain. I need help and don't know what to do. Please help!

I have blood work as well as the ultra sound here are the results!

T4 (Free , Direct, S)  1.43 ng/dl    range(0.82-1.77)
T3 uptake   27%  rang(24-39)

Ultrasound :
Findings; The right lobe measures 1.9x6.2x2.2 cm and the left 8.1x4.6x5.9cm The isthums is slightly thinkened.

The echogenicity of the right thyroid lobe is diffusely inhomogeneous. It contains several poorly marginated nodules the largest of which measures approximately3 cm in greatest size. These may be palpable has a single collecting nodule at physical examination. Centrally these nodules contain a comination of cystic and soild material.
The left lobe is diffusely abnormal and has been essentially  replaced by a single large nodule messuring up to 5 cm  in greatest size. There is some residual peripheral thyroid tissue surrounding the nodule but it is thin. Centrally  this nodule contains solid and cystic elements .

There was only blood work done at the hospital and I don't have that! I see the surgeon on Tuesday.

When will you get to see the surgeon?

Were there any blood tests taken to determine thyroid function?  If so, please post the results and be sure to include reference ranges, since those vary lab to lab and must come from your own report.
