17-year old is sluggish, has brain fog

My 17-year old son has complained of feeling tired, and has trouble concentrating.  He is an excellent student (high achiever) and musician, and his symptoms can keep him from being able to get his work done.  He always has been more often cold than warm.  I have hypothyroidism, and my mother had hyperthyroidism and had her thyroid destroyed by radioactive iodine.  My dad had hypothyroidism.  Son's blood test came back with no thyroid trouble, but is there a more sensitive test or perhaps you have a suggestion.  He has had a physical since these symptoms, and is being treated with Prozac, which has been somewhat helpful, especially with irritability.  He is not overweight but has poor muscle tone.

He's been like this pretty much since adolescence.  Maybe hormonal or something.  We get along well and he said the Prozac helps a little, but I feel bad that he has trouble concentrating.  Thanks for your comments.

Gosh, I would hate to be 17 again.  This is a rough age...maybe its just a phase.  Has he been like this long?  Prozac is pretty scarey to me...It has a side affect of making some people feel worse...suicidal...Just make sure your son talks to you, so you know how he is feeling.  My son is also 17 ..he feels down every so often...he has ADHD and struggles with concentration daily...sunlight is critical for him to boost his spirits..sounds funny but it works.
Thyroid runs in our family as well..but like you said..all his tests come back normal.
