3 year old with Hypo, autoimmune diseases run strongly in family-pls help!

Hello, I have a daughter who is not quite 3 years old. I have a son with Type 1 diabetes and celiac, and another son with celiac. I have seronegative celiac, sacroileitis, and positive thyroid antibodies. I don't have a clue half the time what is wrong with me as my TSH, T3 and T4 seem fine.

My main concern is my daughter right now. She is in the process of being screened for celiac, and they postponed it due to her TSH which was nearly 11 (range .5-5). Her vitamin D is low, as mine and my sons are. I work outside, and my kids are outside with me quite a bit as we live on a farm.

As for her symptoms, she is always starving, very irritable, walked late, has rashes off and on, sometimes blisters, severe fatigue, swollen belly, umbilical hernia(very small one) and she is short for her age but a little "round".

Tomorrow she starts on a synthetic thyroid and we have to do a referral to a pediatric endo. I am so concerned! All of our dianoses started when my middle son got Type 1diabetes just 18months ago and it's been a whirlwind. Any help would be so greatly appreciated and thank you!

Well I got my labs in the mail today. They only tested my TSH, the range for their lab is .34 to 5.6 and my number is .89. They didn't test my T3 and T4 at all. Does anyone have any input on me and my kids numbers?

Hello it's me again lol. I'm still waiting for my labs, and I set an appointment for my daughter to see a specialist on November 28th. Meanwhile, I was looking at my oldest sons' lab work from his celiac diagnosis this past summer, and HIS TSH was 3.31 in a range from .5 to 4.5. Now I'm wondering...? Maybe I need a consult for him too?

Well, hypo patients absorb thyroid meds at different rates, and also have different responses to the same doses and hormone levels.  the human body is funny that way.  However, 125 mcg of T4 med seems high for a 2 1/2 year old.  We'll know a lot more when we see the VERY normal lab test results.

Thank you for your response. I called today and asked the nurse for a copy of my labs and she asked me why I would need them as my tests were VERY normal lol. But she is sending them to me by mail. Does anyone know if 125mcg is too high for a 2 1/2 year old? Thanks!

Wow, you are really overloaded.  I'm sure that members can help.  To start,   just because your thyroid test results fall within the so-called "normal" ranges does not mean all is well for you.  The ranges are far too broad.  Would you please post those thyroid related test results and their reference ranges shown on the lab report so that we can assess the adequacy of your testing and treatment so far.
