A Little Scared

So I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism 3 years ago when i was 19, I went to the doctors yesterday because i have been having these extreme back, neck, knee, etc, body pains... its slowly working its way into my hands... plus i've been having just an excruciating headache that hasn't gone away for 4 days now, and im lightheaded about 85-90% of the time.  The doctor is sending me to have some blood tests done for my thyroid, blood sugar, cholesterol, yada yada yada, and a "Complete Metabolic Panel w/eGFR", someone was saying that the test also helps a doctor possibly diagnose Parkinson's, ASL, Epilepsy (i have never had any seizures before), and Fibromyalgia, is there any truth to that statement?  I guess after hearing that, it just kind of has me a little scared, as i know two of those are life-threatening/paralyzing, etc.

Diagnosis by exclusion is a good thing .. rule out the big things and continue to zero in on an answer ... frustrating and can be scar if you read too much online .. we are here for you .. pls. keep us posted with your results ...  it is amazing what can cause symtpoms in the body and oftentimes it is not from major things but can play havoc big time and w/history of thyroid I'd ask for a screening ultrasound to be certain all looks good and nothing pressing on anything, etc. ?

Consider yourself very lucky that you doctor is running all those tests. Most thyroid patients struggle to get all those test ran. Your doctor sounds good. Fibromyalgia and hypothyroid is common.  Try to remain optimistic, Hypothyroid has many symptoms - joint pain and headaches are sometimes present. I find the thryroid.org website very helpful when I feel overwhelmed. Surf it out.

Not sure of the others but there is no blood test for fibromyalgia.

I think that your doctor is just trying to find a starting point.  Don't panic - sounds like a good doctor trying not to rule out anything.  Since your doctor seems to be good at testing, and since you have hypothyroidism, ask for a thyroid ultrasound.

Here's some references for what your blood panel is looking for:
