Weight can be affected by a number of things, including diet and exercise, of course. In addition weight gain can be affected by low metabolism. An NDT type thyroid med like Westhroid can help, only if the person has low metabolism due to inadequate levels of the biologically active thyroid hormones Free T4 and Free T3. What are your Free T4 and Free T3 levels and reference ranges shown on the lab report? Also, what other symptoms do you have besides a weight issue?
I am going on west thyroid in a few days. Does anyone know if it helps with weight lose?
I, too, had thought Westhroid had been discontinued, so I went looking for articles I'd read to that effect. I was surprised to find the Westhroid Pure (WP). Possibly, it's meant to compete with Acella NP.
Interesting!
I thought RCL labs stopped marketing Westhroid around 2009 when they increased marketing the Nature Throid brand. ?
Nature throid did not have microcrystalin cellulose pre- 2010. It was somewhere around early 2010 that they reformulated NT with MC as a filler (following Armour in late 2009). After that point, NT did not work as well for some people. I used both formulas, the original was better for me.
So it looks like the WP Westhroid Pure is filling in the origional market position that Nature Throid was once in.
The name itself is sure to be confused with NP Thyroid from Acella.
NP Thyroid and WP Thyroid.........maybe they want it to sound the same? To coincidental.
Not familiar with WP Thyroid and to my knowledge we don't have any members on it, unless you might be referring to Westhroid.
Scratch most of what I just said -- I did a quick search and WP Thyroid *IS* Westhroid Pure (WP).
From what I'm seeing the only 2 inactive ingredients are inulin (from chicory root) and Medium Chain Triglycerides from coconut. I'll stay with the thought that we don't have any members on it.
My only concern about this med would be the chicory root... but this might be something to check out.
