Lab results - need help interpreting!

Hello All-

I just got my lab test results back and am having a hard time interpreting them. Any thoughts? I have had some fainting / hot flash issues that sounded like a potential thyroid/hormone issue, and mood swings.

TSH- 0.95 (0.340-5.600)
Free T4 1.5 (.8-2.7)
T4 Total 5.9 (4.5-12)
T3 Total 74 (76-181)
T3 Reverse 16 (8-25)

First a couple of questions/comments.  Please check the range shown for Free T4.  I don't recall seeing a range that broad.  Also, it is too bad they tested for Total T3 instead of Free T3.  Free T3 is the most relevant thyroid test, since it is used by all the cells of the body and correlates best with hypo symptoms.  Total T3 represents all the serum T3, most of which is bound to protein and thereby biologically inactive.  Only the small portion free of protein is active.  In the future you should make sure they always test for both Free T4 and Free T3.

So please tell us about any other symptoms you have.  Also, if you don't mind telling us, what is your age?    And the gender is female, correct?
