tsh level too high?

my tsh level is between 8 and12. I feel ok at these levels also I can lose 1 to2 lb per week.When my level are what the dr calls  normal. I gain weight. Is it possible to gain when your hyperthyroid and lose when your hypo? My diet and excercise routine doesnt change.

it would be helpful if you could get levels for FT3 and FT4 and see where these are.

Different people feel best at different levels.  So medicating thryoid is not a 1 size fits all.

yeah, I think is right.  My recent TSH level was 17.  I was having weight gain, fatigue, tinnitus.  My doc told me to increased my thyroxine from 50 to 100.  Now its somewhat subsided.
