Wow that's for the info guys. I finally had an appointment with an endocrinologist in a week and a half so I'll have her do a full test! My primary care physician was questioning why I wanted a referral to see a specialist. I'm like hello! I hate insurance companies! Anyways I'll post all that I can when I get a chance! Thanks again everyone!
TSH is not a very sensitive test for seeing where you are. If your FT3 and FT4 are in the upper half of the reference ranges there is no concern for the TSH.
It is very important in pregnancy that the FT3 and FT4 should be at the top of the reference ranges..... and thyroid meds need to be increased during pregnancy.
Have you been diagnosed with an autoimmune disease, such as Graves or Hashimoto's? For Graves Disease, you would need to get a Thyroid Stimulating Immunoglobulin (TSI) test; and to check for Hashimoto's, you would need to get both Thyroid Peroxidase Antibodies (TPOab) and Thyroglobulin Antibodies (TGab).
What medications are you currently on, at what doses? Are you having hyper symptoms, or going strictly by the TSH level? Many of us have suppressed TSH, (mine stays at < 0.01) with good FT3 and FT4, so without knowing those levels, I'd be hesitant to say that you are actually hyper, just based on TSH.
I agree that you need to get a FREE T3 and FREE T4 done to see where you are really at. If you can get those tests done, please post the results here, along with the reference ranges, since these vary from lab to lab and must come from your own lab report.
I had 2 children with Graves Disease and wasnt aware I had Graves until 2007 (children being born in 1983 and 1987).
I had no problems getting pregnant but did have both children 2 months early (premature) for no reason.
Since diagnosis of Graves, they have said my children were born early due to Graves as it can cause premature births.
I would be going to see a Gynocologist and getting info from there.
By the way...both children survived although they has Pnumothorax (collapsed lungs) and are healthy and no side effects from it.
Having Graves and being pregnant means that you must be monitored closely all the way through the pregnancy.
But do know its harder to fall pregnant when HYPO.
You havent have the FREE T3 and FREE T4 done which are important tests for the thyroid condition.
