dgmootry - I heard armour has been great up until they reformulated it. So not sure what to do about it, it seems like they added a whole bunch of fillers.
Barb - my numbers have been all over the place, I have never really done well on the synthroid. I've been on the top ranges for t3/4 and still didn't feel really good. I know I have hit sweet sport but that's usually from going inbetween hypo and hyper. Have tried many doses and all but never been stable. The main thing is fatigue and always pulling something :(
For ex, went camping and in the morning we packing up after breakfast and all I can think about is how tired I was.
No, just because Armour has both T3 and T4, does not make it "better". As I said before, it's best for some, not for others, because not everyone needs that much T3; that's why I'd asked for your actual levels, to help determine whether or not it might be best for you.
Hey, I was on levothyroxin and then levoxyl, and now I'm on Armour, I will never go back to the first two, I had horrible side effects, but on Armour I feel almost normal, I still have very slight hypo effects, Armour has been great. for one thing its not synthedic, that I like, at first I had a little problem, that it came from a pig, but then I thought, well i eat liver and chicken gizzerds, with that thought in mind, I have no problem with the Armour, good luck,
Barb135, I know how to read the ranges etc. Was more curious about Armour vs Levo. I know Synthetic only has t4, where as Armour has all three and is better because of that is that true?
Can you please post your actual thyroid blood test results? Be sure to include reference ranges, as those vary lab to lab and have to come from your own report.
There are a lot of people who do better on Armour, so it's always an option. There are also a lot of others that have tried it and gone back to synthroid/levothyroxine. You can always try it and if it doesn't make you feel better, you can switch back.
