Armour Thyroid

I started on Armour thyroid 30mg 3 days ago and I woke up today with headache, dizziness, and unbalanced.  My story started 1 month ago when my doctor started me on synthroid 50mcg.  I developed left facial heaviness, dizziness, and unbalanced after only taking synthroid for 10 days.  My Endo doctor told me to stop taking synthroid.  I stop taking synthroid for 2 weeks, and the dizziness, left facial heaviness, and headache never completely resolved.  Now taking Armour thyroid I woke up today as when I first took synthroid.  Whats going on with me?  Can anyone help me?

Part med, part thyroid, as I mentioned "Your thyroid is unbalanced during this period".

your symptoms are not at all unusual, some people are worse when starting thyroid meds. 3 days is nothing.

It will get better.

"I started on Armour thyroid 30mg 3 days ago and I woke up today with headache, dizziness, and unbalanced."

- only 3 days?  The soonest you can feel normal when starting any dessicated med like Armour is one month if your lucky. The first three weeks some will feel worse.

The T4 in any thyroid med takes 6 weeks to fully activate - your doctor should know this.

You have not been taking it long enough to 'judge' either if these medications.

Your thyroid is unbalanced during this period. However, when starting Armour follow the directions on the web site PDF. You should not start on a full dose- the T3 is a shock to your body. Read up and discuss starting on lower dose and upping dose 15mg per three weeks. Again your doc should know this - but they never do it seems.
