Armour dosage increase - what time frame is the best barometer?

I was on Synthroid for 5 months and did not have good results.  Have just started on Armour 30mg 7 days ago.  I already know that I will need to increase my dosage and my doctor is willing to work with me.  Is a 1-2 week period ample time to use as an assessment window before increasing dosage?

Usually in dosages a 2 week window is about right for many people taking Armour. You have to find your sweet spot with regulation and small increases are best.

If you are sensitive as Tracey is to the Armour the best senerio with it is to cut your doseages frequently through out the day. I was also very sensitive starting it and instead of falling hypo after two weeks I did frequent dosages at one time, I was taking it four times a day with a 1 and 1/2 grain total intake.

Adding magnesium up to 400mgs during increases is good too. It controls and lessens - if not eliminates - heart palps.

Best taken at night in my experience and what I have been told

I know when I started armour I would stick to my dose for 4 wks then we would increase it by 15mg increments every 4 wks. I am very sensitive to medication so I started on 15mg then went to 30 and so on. I was on it for 8 months and was taking 75mg twice a day. I am now taking natur-throid which is just like Armour but made by a different company. I don't know if you read but Armour changed there formula and I started having bad side effects after starting the new formula. I was have heart palpitations and my hypo symptoms were coming back. Since starting the natur-throid I have been feeling pretty good. Just increase it slowly because if you jump it up to fast it can cause you to have hyper symptoms. Good Luck.
