OT: Update my dd in hosp ... ALWAYS keep Synthorid with you at least 2 day supply ....

NEVER LEAVE HOME WITHOUT your thyroid meds!!!!!

Fri night my daughter was unexpectedly admitted to the hosp.for severe abdominal pain and today is Sun night and I just got home for my thyroid meds but I was lucky that the pharm across the street filled me a 2 days supply out of courtesy and handed them to me!!!  I went one day w/o meds but was afraid to do 2 days as now not the time to try it and after 18hrs synthroid free I get tired.  So always have at least one in your wallet for backup is moral of story.

My dd is still not diagnosed yet .. not appendicitis but may be gallbladder or Chrohns' or IBD and being tested an on alll iv fluides. The CT scan showed inflammation on part of her intestine that leads to maybe chron's or IBD but gallbladdersymtpoms, too so all sorts of tests and nothing bymouth is tolerated.  Took 2+hours to swallow barrium for test in ER onFr bcz of severe GI pain :(

I am on hosp Internet .. not sure when post again, but wanted to share this with you and update you on my daughter, too.

Thanks be to god she is home, well, and has an answer!!

Isn't she the lucky one to take after her mother in such a special way!  I say that comedically- awful she had to go through this at a young age but thank god she hasn'tr spent most of her 20's or 30's still searching.

Praying that you get a full night's rest.

THANKS for the well wishes and concern.  SHE IS HOME TODAY after the diagnosis of a severely non-functioning galladder and the HIDA Scan test (which used same RAI as thyroid they told me) confirmed the results and she had a gallbladder removal on Thurs and the physical findings matched the diagnosis as they expected as the gallbladder was full of bile, distended and the tubes were 1/2 the thickenss which was 3.0mm vs. 6.0mm and this they say is heridatary disorder and very RARE!!!!  I have gallstones so we now know where it came from most likely.

So tired after 8 days 7 nights in with her at the hosp but so relieved we have an answer.  She had lost 30lbs in Aug to this same pain but not as severe and u/sounds were normal!!  Everything was normal all these shorter lived attacks until she ended up in the ER last Fri and fainted at home.

We are doing well .. she is taking pain meds and I am going to do a bubble bath.

The technical name is:  biliary dyskinesia

May be a good new board to have, huh?

Even though not life threatening, still puts us mommy bears into flight or fight mode when our babies are hurting. God bless you and her. You'll be in my prayers. ~michelle

Good luck on the results of the Hida scan.  Hopefully, that'll give you some answers.

Too cool re: NJ Devils! :D

How's hubby doing with the housework?  Just gotta ask. ;)

Hope they figure out what's going on and your daughter feels better soon!

My daughter is doing ok but still in alot of pain and on IV only.  They did a high level gallbladder scan yesterday and we await results .. although no stones may be not working right and this is gallbladder related ???  Also cannot scope upper/lower at this time yet until they r/o bacteria from stool but no stool yet.

I am home only for a few hrs now and will go back shortly.

thank you for your thoughts and prayers my friends .. they all mean alot ... this is not life threatening but certainly she is not in great shape pain wise as we await a diagnosis to move fwd with.

OH .. the NJ Devils visited the ped ward and she got a signed shirt yesterday!!!  That made her day!!!

I hope your daughter gets well soon.

I will take your advice on the meds. We don't usually think this way until something happens and gets in the way of our usual routine.
