Awful taste & Sore burning mouth & gums?

Does anybody suffer with an awful taste, and burning sore mouth & gums as a result of thyroid problems on certain days, but not maybe all the time? Only I keep getting it but I'm newly diagnosed with thyroid disease, so I'm not sure if it's related, I think it must be because I never got it before this. I'm also on HRT, which could be causing it, but I doubt it because I've been on it for years with no problems. I've also had a dental check and there's nothing wrong there, which brings me back to thyroid. Anyone had similiar problems? I'd be grateful to hear if you have.

From what I had found and it has definately helped me. It is a PH imbalance and a depletionf zinc in the body.

The hypothyroidism will upset the balance of PH and zinc in the body which will result also in a b12 imbalance.

I take 30-60mg a day now. When I am very acidic I will take ACV 2x's daily and my B's

I have not touch an antacid since February and my tongue for the first time in years looks almost normal. No burning or dental pain anymore either.

Thanks for your reply. That also makes sense to me, as mine comes and goes ever since I started swinging between hyper and hypo. But I'm mostly hypo and I always think it comes up when my thyroid goes back hypo, it's like a sign. But the other points about menopause symptoms and B12 are useful too. Don't know about you, but I get the most awful taste and smell on my breath and it's like my teeth are paining and gums stinging.

Well I have no thyroid and I've had the burning tongue, dry mouth and teeth pain since I had RAI. I thought it was related to that but my endo says no. It comes for weeks and then goes. Some days aren't a bad as others.  My doc thinks it's a result of being hypo. Which makes sense to me as  learn more and more about this stuff.  I don't know if I'm def. in B12 because I take B vitamins everyday for my hair. I wish someone had an answer to this question and a remedy because I"m quite sick of it!

A burning tongue can be a symptom of b12 deficiency. B12 def. sometimes comes along with thyroid disease.

Thanks for your swift reply. I'll look it up, I knew it couldn't be the HRT, just thought of thyroid and forgot about actual menopause symptoms. And I, like you, am new to thyroid only just diagnosed so I get confused with what's what. But thanks again.

I have been researching symptoms of thyroid / hormones & stuff and ran across something that has nothing to do with thyroid (was checking on a burning symptom on my tongue before the thyroid symptoms came up) and found that post or peri menopausal women can suffer from burning mouth syndrome.  Since I am neither, being 30 yrs old - it did not fit my problem and I found mine was from rubbing my tongue against my tooth.  My thyroid symptoms are very new so I have no idea if yours could be thyroid related, just thought I would give you a heads up on what I had found.

Hope you're feeling better soon! Have a great day!
