Bad reaction to Prednisnone for thyroiditis

I had been suffering from thyroiditis for over a year (that I am aware) now.
My Endocrinologist gave me Prednisnone to treat it and in the first day my entire body was aching so bad that I was almost taken to emergency, I didn't take the next dose and spoke with the doctor as soon as I could who recommended not to take it again and said that it was very unusal... Has anyone else experienced this?
The Endocrin is not too certain on what keep causing the thyroiditis. Thought if anyone else has experienced the same you might be able to give insight into your condition? At this stage the Dr is stumped and is sending me for a  brain and neck MRI to rule out MS
Thanks for reading

I'm not sure why your endo would give you prednisone to treat thyroiditis... Can you give us more information about your condition, such as what are your actual thyroid hormone levels?  You should have been tested for Free T3, Free T4 and TSH; if you'll post those results, along with the reference ranges from your lab report, we can start there.

It would also be helpful, if you've had a thyroid ultrasound, to post the results of that, along with any antibody test results you've had that might indicate Hashimoto's or Graves Disease...

A list of symptoms would also be very helpful.
