Well, my weight loss was due to having cancer...not really worth losing 5-10 pounds...it was a shock because I have been the same weight since the third of my sons was born, he was 14 when I magically lost 6-8 pounds while being fatigued...long story short I had papillary cancer and my thyroid was removed.  I am now cancer free, I did get back to my normal weight about a year after my last surgery, then a know-it-all doctor changed my dose again and I gained 10 pounds!  I am now back on the dose I like and starting to lose those extra 10...sometimes it is frustrating!

I have exactly those symptoms except weightloss. I haven't gained any weight, but I have had a very hard time losing weight since the birth of my son. I used to have an excellent metabolism!!! Miss those days!!

That's me!!! I was diagnosed with pregnancy induced hypertension when I was pregnant. It was always the bottom number I had problems with. The top number would be high from time to time, but the bottom stayed high. I have had nothing but problems on and off since I was pregnant with my son who is now just a little over a year. I wonder if I might of had thyroid problems while I was pregnant. I still have the same problems only they have gotten worse, I ended up going to ER a few months ago. They told me that my thyroid was on the high end of normal and that I needed to see an endo. I am waiting to see a doctor now. I can't get in for another month, but man the last two years of my life have been hell health wise. Anyways, thank you for the info!!!!

I just saw this article on Medscape that states "Hypothyroidism has been recognized as a cause of secondary hypertension. Previous studies on the prevalence of hypertension in subjects with hypothyroidism have demonstrated elevated blood pressure values. Increased peripheral vascular resistance and low cardiac output has been suggested to be the possible link between hypothyroidism and diastolic hypertension."
