You do need to have FT3 and FT4 tested. These are the actual thyroid hormones and give a much better indication of thyroid status than TSH (a pituitary hormone). If your doctor won't test those, you may have to find a new doctor.
There are people who get hyper with a TSH much higher than 0.7. We are all different and have our own "comfort range" when it comes to all the thyroid tests. Some of us go hyper at 2.0, some at 1.0, some stay hypo with a TSH near zero. This is why TSH is a very poor indicator of what's going on.
If you test FT3 and FT4, you can post results if you like, and members will help you interpret them.
