Do you think my meds will change after tt?

I had to get a refill on my thyroid meds today as the Dr wants me to stay on this does through the surgery and then will re-evaluate a couple weeks after. Right now I am on 100 mcg and they seem to think it won't change much after surgery as my thyroid was pretty much ka-poot to begin with. I am not really worried about it as the Rx is only $4 bucks a month, but since I have to refill it now I don't want to end up with a ton of meds that I wont' use. I called the nurse and asked her today but she just said to stay on the dose through surgery and after until he calls for more testing. Do you think it will go up? Just curious I guess.

Thanks.
Darla

Thanks for the info. Kind of what I was thinking too but curiosity and the unknown is killing me right now. I have too much to think about I fear! LOL

oops.  I meant 100mcg of levoxyl and 10 mcg of CYTOMEL, not synthroid.

initially they estimate your post TT dose on your weight.  I am 5'6" and 130lbs (+/- 3lbs) and on 100 mcg of levoxyl and 10 mcg or synthroid.  With this medication dosage my labs are normal.  If your thyroid was pretty much non-functioning it would not surprise me that your dosage not change, or if it does, the change might be minimal.

On the other hand, if it was functioning at all, it would not surprise me to see your doseage go up, but just a small amount.  I'm no doctor though! :)

HOpe that helps!
