Amen to that!!! I have all I can handle!
Wow, scary stuff. That is, what you, HOLLY559, experienced and what people will do to feel better.
I'm just grateful I only need the one med, that's enough to manage.
Hi. I have been on Synthroid for 13 years and still have wt and dry skin problems. I finally convinced an Endo to cut my dose and give my Cytomel in a very low dose. Well, within a week my heart was racing and my mind was racing! I couldn't concentrate on anything and I had the most horrible nightmares! Cytomel is a drug the revs up your system and alot of body builders use and abuse it. My sister (a body builder) says some body builders buy it on the street like they would steroids. Well, they can have mine for free! Because I went off it asop! I still have dry skin, but moisturizer is better than the symtoms I got on that drug!
It really is wise to try out Synthroid only when first put on this kind of medication. Symptoms can be tricky and some ppl will find adding T3 into their thyroid meds increases their heart palps and other very bothersome conditions and symptoms.
As Kitty and AR addressed - you really should have a situation where introducing Cytomel to your daily meds is necessary before just going on it.
My doctor offers Cytomel if symptoms remain after TSH has been low enough for a while.
Some people have trouble converting T4 to T3, and need a little boost of T3 to even things out.
