I take 100 mcg. I've been taking it at night but just found out I should be taking it in the mornings. I have also been very irritable lately so I guess I need to talk to my Doctor or else lower the dose. Thanks for your reply.
A TSH of 2.6 is probably within your lab's reference range for "normal". The question becomes, how do you feel with your TSH at that level? Most docs try to manage TSH around 1 (lower in some instances for cancer supression), so from that perspective, 2.6 might be a little high.
I have never heard of Levothroid (levothyroxine and synthroid are more familiar to me), but it is likely replacement thyroid hormone. I have been on synthroid for nearly 2 years now, and have not experienced side effects anywhere near they symptoms I was experiencing when my TSH was over 4.0.
How big of a dose are you on? If it is small - 25 or 50 mcg, then it just might be enough to treat your symptoms without making you hyper. Your doctor was obviously concerned enough about your symptoms to prescribe it, it could help. I'd try it for a couple of weeks. Sometimes the side effects are temporary, and sometimes there are no side effects at all.
Good luck to you.
Sorry didn't stop to spell check my last entry. It was supposed to be privelege or time
