New to the group with lots of questions

Hi everyone,
I have been complaining of a raspy voice, feelings of choaking, sore neck, palpatations, and it feels like something is stuck in my throat all the time, well my doctor finally ordered an ultrasound after I told her I was looking for another doctor. All my blood work is normal, I've had it checked several times. I have a family history of thyroid problems - Mom on synthroid, same with gramma and aunts. My yougest daughter 21, has had positive blood tests for hyper- but reverts to normal, oldest daughter 26 has multiple nudules or a goiter and jumps from hyper to hypo to normal. My results of my ultrasound showed a nodule 1.5 by 1.3 cm on my right and a 1.3 by 1.0 cm on my left. I am having a biospy on April 21 of both the left and the right - So its PAINFULL??????? Are mine considered big? My doctor says no, and they can't be causing my voice change - I dissagree - the nodules so flow - whatever that means. Everyone keeps telling me that cancer is really rare. Any advice

The FNA is not painful, you can relax!.The nodules are probably average. My largest of 5 nodules was 4.8cm. I don't agree about the voice change either. I was hoarse on and off for quite a while and just thought it was a virus because I was not sick. I have since read that it is a symptom.
