Am I having hypothyroidism?

Hi,
I need your help. I am 26 years old.Recently I had put on weight. I was not sure if it was due to weight or is it due to thyroid. I am having hair fall problem since 4-5 years. I sometimes get burning sensation in throat when I wake up in the morning which subsides as I drink water and during the course of day. I decided to get a thyroid test done myself based on all this. This was the test result
T3 - 0.83 (0.7-1.6)
T4- 5.98 (4.2-12.0)
TSH - 5.99 (0.5 - 6)

Should I be worried? Am I having hypothyroidism. I haven't consulted a doctor yet. Please help.

You have subclinical hypothyroidism and supplementing levothyroxine T4 or desiccated T4 T3 combo will greatly help to reduce hypothyroid symptoms you are experiencing. You need to start on very low dose like 12.5 mcg levo to avoid temporary hyper feelings when starting medication. Consult with a good thyroid doctor and start treatment.

Also make sure your Vitamin D and B12 levels are in optimal which is usually deficient in hypothyroid people.
