Lab Results

My daughter has multiple symptoms which include hair loss, weight gain, acne on her back, patches of dry skin, waking temperature approximately 94 to 95 with daytime temp around 96.8, she is cold all the time, she is moody, has heavy menstrual periods, brittle nails, dizziness, difficulty with exercise, etc.  She has had many of these symptoms since she about 14 years old.

Her recent lab results were: TSH 0.9 uIU/mL, T4, Free 0.9 ng/dL  (Dated February 14, 2008)

Do these look like normal results?

There is a significant family history for hypothyroidism in paternal aunts.  Her maternal grandmother was treated for a thyroid condition and one maternal aunt was diagnosed with Graves Disease.  One paternal cousin was diagnosed with Hashimoto's Disease at 17 years old.

My daughter was also born with an immune defficiency which reportedly has resolved.

I would have her adrenals checked.  Adrenal fatigue has the same symptoms as hypothyroidism and you might have her estrogen checked, also
