Could I have hyperthyroidism

Long story short, Feb '09 I had my gallbladder removed and since then have had difficulty taking deep breaths and feeling like I can't swallow.  In June '09, the ENT said I needed to have my tonsils removed due to them being internally infected and that was causing the throat issue (I only ever had Strep about 20 yrs ago).  After a long recovery, still not feeling any better. Have since been diagnosed with Adult asthma (tried every inhaler on the market with no relief in the breathing) and GERD (no medication has helped) and had my esophagus stretched. Also, tested for allergies and showed strong allergy to yeast and mold (now getting allergy shots with no relief). Keep in mind I am 40 yrs old, 5'8" and weigh 110 lbs.Otherrwise healthy, except for the breathing and throat discomfort. Last week the ENT DR ran bloodwork for thyroid and called to say my TSH was high and started me on Synthroid. I am at the last straw, tired of being told I have all this with no relief.  Could my thyroid be causing these problems? Any anwers would be welcome. Thank you.

I have now been on synthroid for  a little over a month now and had repeat blood work done and my doctor (an ent) has said my tsh has come down and to stay on the synthroid and get more bloodwork in 6 months. Unfortunately, still having a lot of the same symptoms -  trouble getting a deep breath and the uncomfortable feeling of tightness in my neck.

Yep you have hypothyroidism. I have had it for over a year now and I still get the shortness of breath/chest discomfort/palpitation's along with many other symptoms. They have improved a lot but they will probably never all go away.
Definitely get those tests done to confirm you are hypo and possibly have hashi's.

If your Doc prescribed Synthroid, you are HYPOTHYROIDISM (underactive).
Ask your Doc to test you for Hashi's and also Free T3 and Free T4.
