I'm glad that you're feeling a bit better!!  As for the getting winded part, I'll share with you what the ENT doc told me yesterday.  First off, there is swelling in there from them working around the area.  Plus, he said that they move a lot of stuff around in there trying to get the thyroid out, so I'm sure it's tender in there.  Since that area was "disturbed", it isn't working up to snuff yet - and it'll definitely affect your breathing.  Once your voice is back to normal, everything else should be too.  He told me that my voice, swallowing, and the shortness of breath are all tied together and once one gets better, they all will.
Keep posting and let us know how it goes!!

Thank you for your support!!  I don't think I could've got through this  without you!
kipland-My voice is fine just alittle hoarse.
TOLD YOU- Sorry you're having a rough time.  I was having panic attacks before surgery, that I was losing it:(  I think swelling is common and breathing was good.  I did the same thing I worked myself up I was  so scared!  But everyone on here made me feel better.  I know you are scared, just try to  breath and relax. I'm so glad its over that 5.2cm nodule/goiter is GONE and I've not having any choking or  neck pain.  I think I'm dizzy from BP being low but alson someone said my balance might be off bcz your not able to turn your head.
dart frog-My BP usually doesn't run low  135/79. How are u doing?  I was so glad you was there for  me!!
DLA- Thanks for your prayers .
I wish there was more awarness for thyroid- for people to understand the ones with the problems   better!!!!

TOLD YOU-anytime you have surgery your going to have some swelling. BUT I have not seen a SINGLE post on here that anyone has had breathing problems because of swelling....NOT one!!!!!
I had a lot of swelling but it was so much EASIER to breathe after surgery because that nasty thyroid and all those nodules were gone.....long gone!
You will do fine {{{{{Hugs}}}}}

ZINDY- I see a pattern on this board......surgery goes GREAT for everyone and by day 3 or 4 they feel SO much better then they dreamed possible....they decided to....over do it. By then yeah the dishes and laundry might be starting to pile up...errands need to be ran...etc...etc...so when you THINK about doing stuff ask yourself...."am I really really going to regret this in the monring??" and then DONT do it!! LOL

BTW----- I have low blood pressure all the time and I make sure to tell drs that when Im under a lot of stress ( lots of pain or surgery) that they need to keep a close eye on me because my BP bottoms out. My nomal is around 108/75 but right after those stress moments it has dropped as low as 79/58. Zindy...do you usally run low?

Glad to hear everything went well for you, for the most part anyway.  Take it easy for a bit.  It's real easy to over-do it right now.  How's YOUR voice?  Was it affected at all by surgery?
