IMy biopsy report came back with possible atypical follicular cells, hurthle cells, scant colloid. It was described as possible chronic lymphocytic thyroiditis but cannot rule out papillary carcinoma. Now I have to get another biopsy after 3 months of healing and have it done again. I don't understand why they couldn't get it in the first place, and what if they can't get it again. This could go on forever. Anyone else have any such experiences? Does anyone know what this chronic lymphocytic thyroiditis is? Also said something about inflammation histiocytes. Can anyone shed some light on this for me. I have 3 doctors who all disagree. One surgeon says no cancer, one surgeon says 50/50 chance, endocrinologist claims 80-90 % chance of papillary cancer because she knows how the pathologist writes his reports and because of the "scant" colloid. Any input would be helpful. Thanks.
