Desprate for weightloss, dealing with underactive thyroid

So I have had underactive thyroid for the last few years and i havnt been able to loose much weight at all..... Im only 5'5 roughly and im at 230 lbs from my last weigh in last week.
I have tried countless pills, diets, exersices, and even went as far as starving myself. And besides the starving nothing else seems to work. I am still  currently classified as class 1 on the obesity bmi scale. Can anyone help me before i break and throw away what ever health i have left? This dosent feel like my body anymore.

Of course weight problems can be caused by a number of things, but before resorting to anything else, you owe it to yourself to get a thorough evaluation for the possibility of thyroid problems.  Please post any thyroid related test results you have, along with reference ranges shown on the lab report. That way we can help assess your status.  Also, do you have any other symptoms besides the weight issue?

Well not sure if your insurance covers this, but my sister is like you overweight, but not obese. She has tried numerous ways but nothing worked. She has had an underactive thyroid for the past 10 yrs...But she says she is not blaming it on the thyroid but her eating habits.

This last week she finally told us she is getting a gastro sleeve(sp?) I think that is what it is called.

She has to pay for it, insurance won't unless she has at least 6 months of documentation from doctors that it is effecting her health.

That is about the only thing I can think of if you have tried everything else.
