I am confused about your status. Why do you say you are hyperthyroid now? What thyroid med are you taking and what is the dosage? Please post your latest thyroid related test results and reference ranges shown on the lab report.
I am having the same problems. I was Hypothyroid, now after they are saying I am Hyperthyroid, No Dr. warned of the side effects. I know I had to remove the Thyroid, Benign tumors. BUT the after is frustrating! I feeling there is no answers!
No one warned I would be on a menstruation cycle for two weeks, or constipation, sweaty, dizzy, tired, food and drinks have no taste, not hungry.
AND THE VERTIGO! Walking is a problem, dizzy, fluid on ears, headaches, mucus in throat that doesn't seem to go away, the falling sensation even when laying or sitting, tiredness, I haven't driven a vehicle sense surgery. Haven't been able to do shopping for necessary household needs.
I am a Ophthalmology Assistant, and was supposed to be back to work today. I want to get back to my life, but how can I help my patients if I can't help myself? I have a disabled daughter, both of us being down has been hell. Karen in Tulsa, OK
I had my thyroid removed July 2010 both sides and like you I continue to get dizzy, the dizziness is not constantly it come every 2 1/2 - 3 hours (like a swimming in my head). I had a Doctor's appt. yesterday and he informed me that i need to talk to my primary care Doctor about the problem, because he don't think my thyroid has anything to do with the dizziness. So, right now i don't know what to do, i need HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
My surgeon thought it was the pain meds also, but I only took them my overnight stay in the hospital. He thought also the position of my head, but gave no help. I am thinking about going to a chiropractor to maybe get realigned after my visit with my doc. But thanks for all the help, at least I know now it's not "in my head", not really anyway.
I had constant dizziness that lasted only about a week, not 2 .. they said it was from the meds used to put me out as a side effect and I swear the position they put your head in for 2 hours backwards doesn't help either.
But since your dizziness comes and goes I really don't know.
I woke up from surgery with a migraine headache worse than the neck pain and those were my first words when they asked if I needed pain meds .. my headache which ended up lasting 48hrs wtih Vertigo that kept me in the hospital an extra night .. I couldn't wear my glasses for 48 hrs cause I'd puke with the room spinning as if I were drunk. It was awful.

All my tests before surgery were normal, nothing was cancerous after surgery, my calcium levels are fine and the surgeon said it was "just in my head". I have an apt with my original doctor on Tuesday, I am going to ask him to pull blood early. I have started taking my meds at night as that seems to help the extreme fatigue, but nothing helps the dizziness.
Hi there! i have been very hypo recently and have been feeling really dizzy and nauseaous!, been back on cytomel for 2 weeks now but still having dizzy spells, i put it down to the fatigue and effects of being hypo.
hope you are feeling better soon! x x x
What is your current TSH and free t4 level?
I have dizziness releated to being hypo.
Perhaps the dizziness is related to being hypo rather than from the med??
I am not sure as I am more familiar with Synthroid. Ae the nodules benign that they found?
WELCOME!
