No I have good insurance so I didnt have to pay it all but still I should not have had to pay a dime but I did. I think I was more shocked at the whole situation and to make matters worse they looked at me like I should have known to go to an ENT but I didnt make the appt. my PCP made it for me.

Did you put the $94 on your credit card? I wouldn't pay it. That sounds crazy. Why would they still charge you?
No my endo doc said he just wants it out he does not want to biopsy it or anything it is just big enough it needs to come out.
Went to the ENT today only to be told today was NOT my appt. it is next Friday some lady in the back is who my husband talked to and she did not bother to tell him she meant next Friday NOT today. I dont know the more docs I see the more I want to RUN as fast as I can and not look back..LOL. They are all just so unconcerned and see to think this can wait for months and months. This guy is a specialist he does head and neck surgeries as well as all the regular ENT sugeries.
I did tell my PCP about the other doc charging me and all he did was tell me he didnt do these types of surgeries and their response was OH REALLY and that was IT...I wanted to SCREAM at her but I didnt, because THEY made the appt for me they should have known he didnt do these surgeries. Then when I asked about the right side / left side thing her response was "well both sides were swollen so it is up to the surgeon which side he takes out" !! That is nuts if I have a mass I want IT OUT, not just what ever side the surgeon feels like doing that day.
Oh boy I am in for a long haul I can see it now.\
THanks

I don't remember, did you have your nodule biopsied? I had an ENT tell me that the whole thing had to come out before he even biopsied my thyroid. Of course I went to my endo a week later and he said "No way, it has to be biopsied first" and told me by no means go to an ENT for this surgery. He sent me to a surgical oncologist because my biopsy came back as highly suspicious for cancer. Long story short, my surgeon does on the average five thyroidectomies a week and I did in fact have cancer. Research your surgeon, I paid online $25 to see his record, etc. It was money well spent. THis is a delicate surgery with so many possible complications. You need to be 100% comfortable.
I think you should let the PCP know what happened but you still will be resp. for the $94 unless that Dr. office will give you a discounted rate due to the mixup .. I would ask the staff to ask him as you aren't made of $ .. put your pride aside and I'd do it .. I've done it b4 and the worst thing that can happen is they say no but you've tried.
In the long haul of things this is a second opinion in a sense, so not totally wasted and so so so glad you got in to see an ENT in the morning!!! That is luck on your side.
My daughter went to have a tooth pulled once and the dentist put the WRONG SIDE of the jaw down and he could have easily yanked out the WRONG TOOTH but noted something was a mistake and she was spared LOL .... so possibly they messed up on the report or something ??
U may be candidate for a total .... Ask the ENT how many thyroid surgeries he has done or does a month/year . you want somebody with alot of experience.
