Does Thyroxine increased blood pressure

I have an underactive Thyroid which is treated with Thyroxin.  My blood pressure readings have increased over time and I wondered can Thyroxine tablets increase blood pressure?

Thank you  Glenbeau

High blood pressure can be a symptom of being undertreated for hypothyroidism. It may be that you are not on a high enough dose to get rid of your symptoms or you may need to supplement t3 or even switch to a different type of thyroid medication such as armour which contains both t4 and t3 and is a natural choice instead of synthetic. Each person is so different but if you are having symptoms of hypothyroidism still you should talk to your doctor about it to see what might need to be changed.

I believe so due to the T4/T3 conversion.

Are you sure you are not hyper now - medically induced?
