Does this all just happen when you get old?

Dr Lupo,
I am a 46 yr old female, three children, total hysterectomy at 36, gallbladder removal for stones at 40, a history of calcium deposits in my lungs and spleen. Total Cholesterol is 286. I have bone pain in my forearms, shins and feet. My last two blood tests for calcium - the first the dr told me to take 1500 mg Calcium w/ vitamin D. The same doctor two months later, said my Calcium number was out of range at 10.5 with an Absolute eosinophis of 14. Do I have cancer somewhere? Why do I feel so bad? Is this just getting old? I can't even sleep through the night anymore. Dr.s all want to give me Lyrica or anti-depressants. NOT depressed here, just feel bad all the time. Can't explain what is worse...bladder infections, pain in my back...OMG! This all started a few years ago before I thought I was old...I am beginning to think I am crazy or a hypercondriac. Should I be concerned?

In order to get a response from Dr Lupo, you will have to post on the expert forum.  We are patients, just like you, who try to help each other manage our thyroid condition(s).

That said:  Do you have a thyroid condition or have you been tested for one?  Since your calcium level is high, you might ask to have your parathyroids checked.  These are small glands, located behind your thyroid gland.  There are 4 parathyroids, and they shouldn't be confused with the thyroid, as they have no relationship to each other, except their location in the body.

If you've had thyroid testing done, please post the results, along with reference ranges, which vary from lab to lab, so must come from your own report.  You need a minimum of TSH, Free T3 and Free T4 tested.
